POMPANO BEACH, FLORIDA. A new U.S. Patent was issued today to Apollo Energy Systems on a method of extending the life of an Alkaline Fuel Cell (AFC) by periodically regenerating its electrodes. An Apollo AFC, which normally would give 200,000 miles of service in an electric car, could have its electrodes regenerated every 10,000 miles in a routine service check-up, which would result in increased life beyond the 200,000 miles.
This is the fourth patent issued to Apollo this year. Additional patents will soon be applied for on a feather-weight Lead Foam substrate for Lead Cobalt Batteries and new generation Ammonia Crackers.
