Electric Car Expressway
Detroit To Chicago
Set up at Holiday Inns by Electric Propulsion
Inc. in December, 1967
This Electric Expressway
was on Interstate 94 and allowed EFP to road-test its vehicle under real
life conditions at high speeds and under all kinds of weather, and to
recharge at 50 kW. The Holiday Inns along the way supplied coffee and
refreshments during the 45-minute fast charge. A number of celebrities such
as Arthur Godfrey drove EFP vehicles on this Expressway.
