WORLD’S FIRST
ELECTRIC VEHICLE
HYDROGEN EXPRESSWAY
Eleven
Hydrogen-Ammonia Fueling Stations, stretching from Pensacola to Key West
will be available to owners of Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles. These will be
located at gas stations in Pensacola, Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Daytona
Beach, Orlando, Tampa, Melbourne, West Palm Beach, Pompano Beach, Miami and
Key West.
APOLLO ENERGY SYSTEMS, INC. plans to demonstrate five of its Silver Volt
Electric Cars on this Hydrogen Expressway, running them from Pompano Beach
to all other ten fueling points. This will not only show that Ammonia
is an economical hydrogen-rich fuel, but also that Apollo Alkaline Fuel
Cells, coupled with light weight Lead Cobalt Batteries, can power our cars,
trucks and busses throughout the country.
The
next step will be a Hydrogen Expressway from Florida to California.
The
immediate use of Ammonia can jump-start the country into a true
Hydrogen Economy. Ammonia is the second largest chemical produced in the
world, 105 million tons produced per year. It is shipped by truck, rail,
pipeline, ship and barge. Farmers use it for fertilizer in most countries
of the world. It is used extensively for refrigeration. In Europe,
thousands of homes have household refrigerators using ammonia as the
refrigerant. The ammonia producers in the U.S.A. could easily install
tanks of ammonia in gas stations in 100 metropolitan areas where 70% of our
population live, starting with 150 gas stations in each metropolitan area.
