48 kW APOLLO™ POWER PLANT
MODEL 101-B

HOME HEATING & LIGHTING -- 11.5 kW FUEL CELL AND 48 kWh BATTERY with 172 kW OVERLOAD PROTECTION
 

Application.  24-Hour Power Supply for Home, Farm or Commercial Establishment for Heating, Lighting and operation of appliances independent of the outside power line (utility grid) supplied by the electric utility company.  Will operate a 14-HP AC Electric Motor on a continuous 24-hour basis.   

Specifications of Power Plant equipment (January 5, 2001):

Lead Cobalt Battery.   240-volt @ 200-amps 1/C  -  48 kWh
One-minute power surge:  600-amps.  Battery supplies power to Inverter or EV Controller.

Apollo™ Fuel Cell.  342-volts open circuit (360 cells @0.95 volts per cell).  288-volts @ 0.8 volts per cell under 40-amp load = 11.52 kW.   Fuel cell charges battery at 288-volts @ 40-amps.
 

Maximum Heating & Lighting Energy:

11.52 kW x 24-hours = 276 kWh x 30-days = 8,280 kWh

 

DC to AC Inverter for supplying power to load:              48 kW

Input from battery:  288-Volts DC, 40-amps 11.52 kW
One-minute overload:  600-amps @ 240 volts 172.80 kW
Output:   240 Volts AC, 50/60 Hertz, 45.6-amps 10.94 kW
230 Volts AC, 50/60 Hertz, 47.5-amps 10.94 kW
120 Volts AC, 50/60 Hertz, 91.2-amps 10.94 kW
